FoCo Fondo Initiatives

At FoCo Fondo, we believe that the world is better when we all have access to bikes. Whether you want to use them for transportation, exercise, competition, or just sheer joy, bikes are transformative.

At the same time, gravel racing, while in theory has less barriers to entry than other forms of cycling, is just as expensive as any other genre. Entry fees are the tip of the iceberg- bike costs and maintenance, travel, housing, childcare - it all adds up and is inaccessible to many.

We sustainably work to break down barriers that prevent underrepresented groups from fully joining this space. We couldn’t do this without partners who help financially support these programs, especially title sponsor Fat Tire, and our boots-on-the-ground community members who help us pull it off.

Hitch a Ride

For Climate, Community, and Cost-Sharing

This second year program aims to rethink how we travel to races and events by carpooling, utilizing things like airport shuttles instead of car rentals, and riding to the start of events instead of driving when possible. Plus by participating, you can win p-l-e-n-t-y of prizes!

A special shout to to Kuat Racks for making the carpool program possible, the second year in a row!

2024 Leadership Program

The FoCo Fondo Leadership Program is back for 2024. This program works to create space for local leaders in four key historically underrepresented areas in cycling: BIPOC, Non-Binary/Gender Expansive, Para, and Women. Each one of these leaders belongs to the underrepresented areas of which they lead.

We are compensating each of these local leaders for their time and to continue to grow deep roots in Fort Collins while lifting up and supporting athletes everywhere.
